General Admission Requirements

4-Year Degree Programmes

WASSCE/SSSCE & Equivalents

Applicants must have:

• Credits (A1-C6/A-D) in:
  • English Language
  • Core Mathematics
  • Integrated Science
• Plus credits (A1-C6/A-D) in:
  • Elective Mathematics
  • Two (2) elective Science/Technical subjects for Programmes A, B and C.

Additional Requirement for B.Sc. Nautical Science

Candidates with:

• Elective Mathematics
• Geography
• Any other elective subject

For Information Technology and Business Programmes (D & E)

Applicants must have the three core subjects plus three elective subjects from:

• Technical
• Visual Arts
• Business

GCE Advanced Level Candidates

Applicants must have:

• Credits in at least five (5) GCE O-Level subjects including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
• Plus at least three (3) A-Level passes in relevant subjects.
• Mathematics must be one of the A-Level subjects for Programmes A, B and C.

GBCE Candidates

Applicants must have:

• Credit passes (A-D) in six subjects comprising:
  • Three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics
  • Three relevant electives
    

2-Year Diploma Programmes

WASSCE/SSSCE & Equivalents

Applicants must have:

• Passes in six (6) subjects (A1-D7/A-D)
• Including English Language and Mathematics
• Minimum of D7 in three elective subjects
  

GCE Holders

Applicants must have:

• O-Level credits in five subjects including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
• Plus A-Level passes in any two subjects
  

GBCE Holders

Applicants must have:

• Credit passes (A-D) in five subjects comprising:
  • Three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics
  • Two relevant elective subjects
    

Technical School Applicants

Applicants must have:

• NAPTEX passes in four core subjects
• Four passes in their area of specialization
  

Note: Applicants for Diploma Programmes under Sea-Going and Engineering categories must have a Science background.

Mature Students' Entry Route

Applicants must:

• Be at least 25 years old.
• Provide proof of age (birth certificate or other legitimate document at least five years old).
• Pass RMU Mature Students' Entrance Examination in:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Aptitude Test
